Fronted by Josh Zee (The Mother Truckers, Protein), whose searing guitar work and powerhouse vocals have earned him major-label releases and global tours, the band delivers electrifying performances. Jonnie Axtell (Psychefunkapus) brings his signature guitar style, honed through years on Atlantic Records and the SF music scene. On bass, Amir Zitro lays down deep grooves shaped by his work with Alex Skolnik’s Exhibit A and Sourpuss. Founded in the San Francisco Bay Area by Josh Zee (Guitar/Vocals) and Teal Collins (Vocals/Guitar), the band built a loyal following before relocating to Austin, TX, where they landed a Continental Club residency and shared stages with legends like Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and George Jones. Their albums, including Broke, Not Broken and Let’s All Go to Bed, earned critical acclaim and airplay on Little Steven’s Underground Garage, with multiple songs named “Coolest Songs in the World.”
Dealers of Dynamite: Guitar-Fueled Rock from San Francisco
Formed in 2005 by Josh Zee and Teal Collins of The Mother Truckers, Dealers of Dynamite deliver a high-energy fusion of guitar-driven rock straight from the San Francisco Bay Area.
The band features a dynamic lineup: Josh Zee (Guitar, Vocals), Teal Collins (Guitar, Vocals), Mark Antonio (Guitar, Vocals), Joaquin Spengemann (Drums), and Adam Sedie (Bass). Recorded at Chubb Studios in Oakland and mixed at Commander Bass Studios in San Francisco, their self-titled release showcases the band’s raw energy and tight musicianship. With all songs written by Josh Zee, Dealers of Dynamite captured the spirit of the Bay Area’s vibrant rock scene.
The Whiskey Sisters: Harmony-Driven Southern Rock
With soaring harmonies and a fiery blend of rock and country, The Whiskey Sisters bring a fresh take on Southern rock straight from Austin, Texas.
Fronted by Teal Collins Zee and Barbara Nesbitt, the band features a powerhouse lineup: Josh Zee (Guitar), Lonnie Trevino Jr. (Bass), Phil Bass (Drums), and Michael Davids (Keys). Their high-energy performances mix originals with reimagined classics, like their country-rock take on The Rolling Stones’ "Loving Cup.” From SXSW showcases to Continental Club residencies, The Whiskey Sisters deliver a feel-good sound that’s impossible to resist.
Protein: Bay Area Grunge & Alternative
Formed in San Francisco in 1994, Protein blended punk, alternative, post-grunge, and metal into a raw, high-energy sound. Fronted by Josh Zee (vocals/guitar) alongside Dan Thompson (drums) and Russ Violet (bass), the band quickly gained traction with their electrifying live shows.
Signed to Sony's Work Records, they released Ever Since I Was a Kid (1997) and Songs About Cowgirls (1999), earning spots on The Warped Tour and international tours through Europe and Japan with MTV Asia Summer Fest. A staple of the ‘90s alternative scene, Protein left a lasting mark with their hard-hitting sound and relentless energy.
