Josh Zee is a seasoned guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter with a career spanning multiple acclaimed projects.
Josh first gained national attention as the frontman and guitarist for Protein, releasing two major-label albums on SONY/Work and touring extensively across the U.S. on The Warped Tour, as well as in Europe and Japan as part of MTV Asia Summer Fest.
Following Protein, Josh co-founded The Mother Truckers with his wife, Teal Collins. After relocating to Austin, TX, they released four albums and earned the title of "Best Roots-Rock Band" at the SXSW Austin Music Awards. The band toured nationally and across Europe, sharing stages with legends like Willie Nelson, Hank Williams III, The Old 97’s, The Avett Brothers, Merle Haggard, George Jones, and the Supersuckers.
Josh later joined Teal in The Whiskey Sisters, playing guitar and co-producing their self-titled album. The band was named "Best New Band" at the SXSW Austin Music Awards, toured extensively across the U.S. and Europe, and earned widespread recognition.
Currently, Josh performs and records with the AC/DC tribute band AZ/DZ while continuing his work as a session guitarist, teacher, producer, and arranger for various artists. Fittingly, it was Angus Young who first inspired him to pick up a guitar as a kid. Josh's playing and production work have been featured in Guitar Player Magazine, Thrasher, Village Voice, and other national publications. With a deep catalog of collaborations and credits, Josh remains an in-demand musician both on stage and in the studio.
